Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Mission
Established in October of 2000, the Gates Cambridge Trust provides approximately 80 full-cost scholarships (25 to US applicants and 55 to international applicants) to the most highly qualified applicants to pursue a postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. In addition to pursuing their chosen course of study, scholars will join the vibrant and diverse intellectual community of Cambridge University. The scholarship covers not only the full-cost of studying at Cambridge (the University Fee at the appropriate rate, a maintenance allowance for a single student (£21,000 for twelve months, one economy single airfare at the beginning and end of the course, inbound visa costs, and the Immigration Health Surcharge) but also discretionary funding for academic development (£500- £2,000), fieldwork, and particular family needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Citizenship of any country outside of the United Kingdom
- The intent to pursue a PhD, MLitt, or a one-year postgraduate course
