Certified Energy Management

The office of Certified Energy Management is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of utilities and building systems across post.

This office and its staff monitor and track utility usage, and develop projects and strategies to reduce VMI’s environmental impact and operating costs. They are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Institute’s steam, HVAC, and building automation systems, and for ensuring that those operations are in compliance with all codes and regulations. The Certified Energy Manager also serves as VMI’s representative to utility companies as well to Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality.
