Passmore to Speak on With Good Reason
LEXINGTON, Va., April 19, 2021—Maj. Tim Passmore, assistant professor of international studies at Virginia Military Institute, will discuss how the changing composition of United Nations peacekeeping forces may signal a larger shift on public radio’s With Good Reason April 24-29, in an episode titled “Protecting Human Rights.”
In Lexington, the show will air Sunday, April 25, at 3 p.m. and Wednesday, April 28, at 8 p.m. on WMRA 89.9 FM. In Charlottesville, it can be heard at the same times on WMRA 103.5 FM, and also at 2 p.m. Sunday on Radio IQ 88.5 FM. In Harrisonburg, With Good Reason will air Sunday, April 25, at 3 p.m. and Wednesday, April 28, at 8 p.m. on WMRA 90.7 FM.
In addition to Passmore, others heard on this show will be Kirsten Gelsdorf of the University of Virginia, a 20-year veteran of humanitarian work with the United Nations and other organizations, and Jennifer Fish of Old Dominion University, who will discuss the shortcomings of Virginia’s recently passed Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. In addition, Eric Bonds of the University of Mary Washington will talk about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is not typically taught in American classrooms despite its global popularity.
