Executive Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty

VMI is accepting applications for the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent for Academics and Dean of Faculty.  The Executive Assistant provides direct, administrative support to the Dean, and provides a wide range of administrative duties in support of the Dean’s Office working in close coordination with the Dean’s Office Administrative Coordinator.  Duties include the following: 

  • preparing correspondence, presentation materials, and reports;
  • coordinating event support;
  • maintaining Dean’s Office/faculty files;
  • maintaining the Dean’s calendar;
  • coordinating travel arrangements for the Dean;
  • interacting with high-level officials;
  • other duties as assigned.

This rewarding position requires refined written and oral communications skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, facility with information technology skills (including the ability to learn new systems quickly), and the strong interpersonal abilities needed for coordination and interactions with multiple Institute agencies. The position is best suited for an individual who possesses initiative, discretion, and the ability to work both independently and collegially with others.
