Teaching Position – Dept. of Physics and Astronomy (non-tenure track)

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track teaching position to begin 1 August 2021. Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in Physics; Ph.D. is preferred. Successful candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and be capable of teaching a variety of undergraduate courses and laboratory classes in physics.  The teaching load will be the equivalent of five 3-credit courses per semester, but with a small number of preps.  This position may be renewed beyond the initial one-year term.   

VMI is a public, four-year undergraduate military college for men and women (1700 students) located in the historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. All faculty members are required to wear a military uniform. However, prior military service is not required. More information about the VMI can be found at http://www.vmi.edu
